Bula vinaka my name is Ana Cagi Moi. I am a New Zealand based Fijian Netball Player. I recently represented Fiji at the 2023 Netball World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa and 2017 Netball World Youth Cup, in Gaborone Botswana. I am passionate about netball, both improving my own game and supporting others in their mental health journey to be the best they can be. I am currently doing my PGDip in Health Science, majoring in psychology. I am passionate about mental health and educating my fellow Pacific brothers and sisters about dealing with their emotions during stressful situations. Understanding my own emotions and how to deal with grief has inspired me to study psychology. Being brought up in a Pacific Island home, we are taught to repress our feelings and I wanted it to change. I wanted to break the intergenerational trauma that was occurring in my Pacific Island home and also, to teach my family and friends on how to open up and not be seen as “weak” in today’s society. I aspire to become a clinical psychologist in the near future and to give back to the community. Keen to help out in any way I can!
